We've purchased 30.5 acres in Franklin County, VA for our retirement home. It's 11miles south of Rocky Mount VA, about 40 miles Southeast of Roanoke and 13 miles North of Martinsville VA and an easy drive to Smith Mountain Lake.   It is only 70 miles to either Greensboro or Winston-Salem NC.  There is a paved road in front of the property so the directions won't include "after you leave the paved road."   It's all forest now except for an area that is cleared for a driveway and house.  We will be gradually clearing more of the lot, building a couple of miles of fences, then building the house, garage, and barn.
